How to get the label

Institutions of further education that wish to acquire the EduQualita label must prove that they fulfil the minimum standards set by EduQualita.

To do this, they must compile a dossier according to specific guidelines and submit it to the certifying body, which will assess the dossier and conduct an audit. If the institution fulfils the criteria, they will receive the label.

Validity

Valid for three years

The EduQualita certificate is valid for a period of three years, after which the certificate may be reapplied for.

Furthermore, annual interim audits will be carried out by the respective certifying body. These interim audits will review:

Which (if any) significant changes have taken place in the institution in the intervening period
Whether minimum standards are being adhered to
Whether any requirements previously imposed on the institution have been met in the intervening period
Whether the institution continues to engage actively in quality development

In extreme cases, the EduQualita certificate can be revoked on the basis of an interim audit.

No equivalence

Institutions that already make use of another quality management system and hold the corresponding certificate do not automatically qualify to receive the EduQualita certificate.

Cost

Different processes are applied for institutions of differing sizes. The parameter used to determine the applicable process for a particular institution is the number of sessions taught per year. The following table allows you to check which process would apply for your institution. If an institution is characterized by a group structure (or similar), tasks involved in applying for the label should be approached at a group-wide level; this way, they must only be undertaken once.

Process A for Institutions with less than 25,000 Participants x Units : Cost ceiling USD 3950.– excl. VAT and expenses.

Process B for Institutions with more than 25,000 Participants x Units : Costs as per quote from certifying body.

Costs are also governed by the regulations of individual certifying bodies in regards to:

Travel expenses
Travel time
VAT
Registration costs

Significant extraordinary expenses (e.g. additional on-the-spot checks due to serious deviations from the required standards) that exceed the set limits may be charged for by the certifying bodies.
